What is the Difference Between a Fake Bachelor Degree and a Life Experience Degree?

There is a difference, but that might not be immediately discernible given that some so-called life experience degrees are essentially a fake bachelor degree in different packaging. A fake bachelor degree is basically a novelty or decorative diploma. There’s no pretense that the degree is “earned,” and no qualifications to fulfill other than paying the invoice. A life experience degree is a degree which is earned, wholly or in part, based upon your prior learning experience on the job, in the military, in other schools, or through concentrated independent study and pursuits.

What is the Difference Between a Traditional Bachelor Degree and a Fake Bachelor Degree or Life Experience Degree?

A traditional bachelor degree is earned based on classroom study and the completion of exams and other educational tasks designed and assigned by the university from whom the degree is received. Typically a bachelor degree requires the completion of 120 credits, with a certain number of those credits assigned to core subjects and others intended to be drawn from classes relevant to your major. Even core requirements vary from school to school, or between colleges within schools. For example, a bachelor of arts degree from a university will have different core requirements than a bachelor of science, although they are both four year degrees and of equal standing. Your major may also impact your core requirements; for example, while anyone of several history classes may be acceptable as core credit fulfillment, if your major is in the liberal arts, it may require that you choose from a smaller pool of options.
