List of Ivy League Schools
Every year, hundreds of thousands of students all over the United States send in applications to Ivy League schools, hoping with all their might that they might be one of the 8-15% of applicants who get accepted. Students who graduate from Ivy League schools are usually considered to be intelligent and carry a bigger potential for success in life. Often, Ivy League schools are recognized for their academic excellence, but not many know the history behind the league. Ivy League schools are eight academic institutions located in the east coast of the United States. The Ivy League was formed in the 1940’s by the president of the eight institutions to promote intercollegiate football games among the schools, and keep the game in proportion to academic life.
The Ivy League is composed of the following academic institutions:

- Cornell University
- Dartmouth College
- Harvard University
- University of Pennsylvania
- Princeton University
- Yale University
