Searching for Ivy League Online Degrees?

Ivy League OnlineIvy League schools are steeped in tradition and academic excellence. However, what if you want to attend an Ivy League school and are on the west coast? In the past, you would have to pick up and move in order to attend one of these prestigious schools. Slowly, some of the elite schools are starting to offer online learning.

Ivy League Schools

There are eight Ivy League schools: Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.

Many of the schools have started offering certificate or audit programs, but few will actually culminate in a degree award. Currently, only Brown and Princeton do not offer some sort of online program.

Columbia has the most extensive online program offerings. They have over 30 online degree programs offered through their engineering department. Programs include computer science, applied mathematics, and mechanical engineering. They also offer many other courses via the Columbia Video Network (CVN). Most of these courses are not for college credit.

Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale have many different online courses. However, most are continuing education, certificate or audit courses. Harvard has online courses that will count towards your degree program. However, you must combine these with campus based courses.

If you want to attend an Ivy League school but find it is not feasible for you to move near a campus, you may want to look into the various online programs that the schools offer. Each school is slowly starting to offer more and more programs.
