Cornell Ivy LeagueSearching for the Cornell Ivy League?

When looking for a university to attend, students and families may become a little overwhelmed. There are many different universities and programs to choose from. However, if you are looking for a school that is consistently ranked in the top 20 universities each year, look no further than Cornell University in the Ivy League.

Cornell is one of the elite eight Ivy League schools. It is located in Ithaca, New York and was established in 1865. They adhered to principles that were unheard of at the time. They were co-educational and non sectarian at a time when universities were typically founded based on race or religion. It is considered a land grant university and receives some funding from the state for certain programs. It is one of only two private land grant universities.

The cutting edge principles that Cornell was founded on continues to this day. They opened a medical college in 2004 in Qatar. This was the first American based medical school that was opened in a foreign country.

Not only does Cornell offer top notch academics, they also have a large intramural and club system. Their Greek system is the second largest in North America. They have approximately 70 different organizations!

If you are looking for a university with top faculty, resources, and facilities, look no further than Cornell. Make sure you start preparing early, however. Current acceptance rates are below 20% with close to 40,000 applying each year. In addition, they look for SAT scores in the upper 25th percentile. But, for the quality education you would receive, the preparation is well worth it.
